Hi, I’m Jennifer Stevens, founder of California Swim Academy. I’ve spent over 13 years in the aquatics world, combining competitive experience, coaching, and safety expertise to help swimmers of all ages gain confidence, skill, and a love for the water. I competed in swimming for 7 years and water polo for 3 years, earning gold and bronze medals at the Junior Olympics. In this national-level water polo competition, I played as a goalie. These experiences taught me discipline, teamwork, and strong technical skills. I specialize in teaching children of all ages, including those with special abilities, as well as adult women who want to learn or improve their swimming skills. Beyond teaching, I’ve worked as a lifeguard, assisted in Krav Maga classes for kids, and supported children with special abilities through community programs. I am fully lifeguard certified by the Amrican Red Cross and committed to providing safe, structured, and fun lessons tailored to each student’s goals — whether it’s building water confidence, improving technique, or preparing for competitive swimming. At California Swim Academy, our mission is simple: to ensure you and your child feel confident, comfortable, and completely safe in and around the water. We’re committed to creating a supportive environment where safety comes first, skills grow naturally, and every swimmer builds confidence that lasts a lifetime.
As co-owners of California Swim Academy, David and Mariela Stevens provide essential support behind the scenes, overseeing financial management and assisting with daily operations. Their dedication helps ensure the academy runs smoothly, creating a stable and organized environment where both staff and swimmers can thrive. Their hands-on involvement plays a key role in the continued growth and success of the program.
With years of experience as devoted sports parents in the aquatics community, David and Mariela bring a deep understanding of the swimmer and family experience. Having supported athletes through lessons, practices, and competitions, they know what it takes to build confidence and trust in the water. Their commitment helps foster a warm, family-oriented atmosphere where every swimmer and parent feels welcomed, supported, and part of the California Swim Academy community.
